Finding Joy in Hard Times

If you are trying to be happy and not sure how to READ THIS POST.

How do you get there? Is it something you work for? I don’t know about you, but trying to put a smile on my face when I really didn’t want to sometimes felt like a challenge to me. I started letting things of this world get to me. I felt the pressure of it and I allowed it to cause me to lose my joy. I didn’t realize that was what I was doing. It happened a little at a time.

Have you ever done that? Let the circumstance overtake you so much that you let it take your faith in God and steal your joy. I did.

I didn’t realize until recently how much my failed IVF’s affected me. That is until the Lord started pointing little things out to me. Instead of focusing on the things I did receive from the Lord that I was believing for, I focused on the thing I didn’t receive. Not that it isn’t still going to happen, because God’s word is true and IT WILL perform the promise. I was just focusing so much on what didn’t happen when I wanted it to that I couldn’t believe for it anymore. In fact, I stopped believing in some areas that God would do it.

Then the Lord started speaking to me about my joy. The Word says the Joy of the Lord is our strength. The Lord showed me that I needed to have joy again. I said how? I tried to mentally tell myself to smile. While driving in the car I would start saying Hahaha… laughing by faith. Then the Lord said look up scriptures on joy.

So I did. I found so many scriptures about taking joy during the circumstance and the outcome coming out in victory!!

The scripture that really spoke to me was 1 Peter 1:8,9 (KJV)

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Here it is in the Amplified Classic Edition (my favorite)

8 Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even] now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.

9 [At the same time] you receive the result (outcome, consummation) of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Note that first you BELIEVE then have JOY knowing you are RECEIVING what you have believed for. The key is having joy through it all! When I got a hold of that, the anointing came on me and I started getting excited. I jumped up and down realizing I have it. The word says it so I have it! Because I believed I began to be filled with joy, before I knew it, I was laughing.

Do this yourself and let me know your outcome. I want to hear how the joy started filling inside of you.
